for winning the Best Presentation Award out of the 52 posters presented at Asian Symposium of Medicinal Plants and Spices XVII (2021) held on the 18 and 19 August 2021. The title of her poster presentation was “ABPA Increases Glucose Uptake in L6 Skeletal Muscle Cells via The Activation of p38 MAPK-GLUT4 Pathway”.

The event was organised by Malaysian Natural Products Society (MNPS) along with c-organisers such as Institut Kimia Malaysia (KM), Forest Research Institute Malaysia (FRIM), Phytochemical Society of Asia (PSA) and Japan Analytical Industry Co., Ltd. (JAI).

Congratulations to Janice Tay Ee Fang for winning the “Best Oral Presentation” in International Congress on Obesity and Metabolic Syndrome (ICOMES) 2021. The congress was hosted by KSSO between 2 and 4 September 2021. Her title of presentation was “Relationship Between Diet Quality with Weight Status Among Urban Poor Adolescents Living in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia”.

Chan Chong Joo, a PhD student from the Faculty of Applied Sciences was awarded the Best Poster Presentation Award out of 69 posters presented, at the 45th Annual Conference of The Malaysian Society for Biochemistry and Molecular Biology in conjunction with the 2nd International Health and Medical Science Conference, on 18 to 19 August 2021. This event was in collaboration with the Young Scientist Network Malaysia (YSN).

Nurulsyahirah was selected as one of the participants for the IUNS International Workshop on Capacity and Leadership Development in Nutrition Sciences.

She is one of the 20 young researchers selected from Asian countries to participate in this workshop.

Congratulations to Chu Chee Chin, PhD candidate under the supervision of Associate Professor Dr Nyam Kar Lin, on winning the Third Prize in the Infographic Competition 2022 (Postgraduate Category) - Organic Chemistry in Daily Life organised by IKM Division of Organic & Biomolecular Chemistry, Pusat Asasi UiTM & Pusat STEM Negara. The tittle of her presentation was "Sunscreen in Daily Life - Photochemistry".

Congratulations to our PhD candidate, Chu Chee Chin under the supervision of Professor Dr Nyam Kar Lin, on her paper published under the Industrial Crops and Products (Q1, Journal's Impact Factor: 5.645, Top 10% Journal). The title of her paper is “Preparation and evaluation of photoprotective kenaf seed oil nanocarriers-based cream of tocotrienol-rich fraction”.

Congratulations for receiving the American Society for Pharmacology and Experimental Therapeutics (ASPET) Travel Award, under the supervision of Associate Professor Dr Nwabueze Patrick Okechukwu. This award is presented to outstanding young scientists to enable them to present their research at one of the largest biological scientific meetings in the world. The Experimental Biology meeting gathers more than 12,000 scientists from over 65 countries representing the fields of anatomy, physiology, biochemistry, pathology, and pharmacology.

Congratulations to Kong Ianne for being awarded the "PhD Mobility: Research Stays in France Grant" under the supervision of Assistant Professor Dr Pui Liew Phing. The PhD Mobility is inclusive of flights and a €4500 allowance for three months, from 22 August to 16 December 2022.

Congratulations to Lim Teck Wei for the recent publication entitled 'Studies on the storage stability of betacyanins from fermented red dragon fruit (Hylocereus polyrhizus) drink imparted by xanthan gum and carboxymethyl cellulose' in the Food Chemistry journal (Impact Factor 2022 = 9.231, Q1 Tier 1) ranking it at 8 out of 143 in Food Science & Technology.
