Dr Gailani Selected As Best Presenter At International Symposium

UCSI’s Faculty of Engineering, Technology and Built Environment lecturer Dr Mohammed Al-Gailani won the best presenter award in the 2nd International Symposium on Fluid Mechanics and Thermal Sciences 2018.

His paper was entitled “Saving Energy Cost By Combining Air-Conditioning and Air-Circulation Using CFD to Achieve Thermal Comfort In The Building.” The paper had practical significance in that it illustrated the method in which to retain our ‘comfort zones’ in terms of temperature while paying less for electricity.

Best Paper Award Presented to Tey Wah Yen for contribution in Computational Fluid Dynamics

Faculty of Engineering, Technology and Built Environment’s lecturer Tey Wah Yen received the Best Paper Award conferred by the Technical Committee of International Conference on Aviation Technology and Management 2018 conducted at Sri Pacific Hotel, Kuala Lumpur on 13th September 2018.

He received the Best Paper Award for the submitted conference paper entitled “Numerical Modelling of Convective Wave Using Fractional-Step Method”.

Dr Yu Receives Chartered Enginner Qualification

Faculty of Engineering, Technology and Built Environment’s Assistant Professor Dr Yu Lih Jiun received the Chartered Engineer qualification awarded by the Institution of Mechanical Engineers (IMechE) on 24th July 2018.

This professional qualification enables her to register under the Engineering Council, United Kingdom.  

This qualification is the reflection of a professional registered engineer and marks commitment to professional standards and to exercising responsibilities in an ethical manner.

Dr Ang Awarded Certificate of Best Presentation In International Conference

UCSI’s Faculty of Engineering, Technology and Built Environment deputy dean Assistant Professor Dr Ang Chun Kit has been awarded the Certificate for Best Presentation in the 2018 International Conference on Renewable Energy and Environment Engineering held in Paris, France.

His paper entitled ‘Development of a Footstep Power Generator In Converting Kinetic Energy to Electricity’ demonstrates how a simple yet low cost mechanism can enhance the performance and efficiency of energy conversion from kinetic energy to electrical energy.

Female Postgraduate Research Award

Congratulations to Low Suk Khe, Master of Philosophy in Engineering for winning the Female Postgraduate Research Award by UCSI University and the Organisation for Women in Science for the Developing World (OWSD), Malaysian Chapter.

Suk Khe's research on developing a low cost agro-based natural adsorbent has been published in Ultrasonics Sonochemistry, Journal of Environmetal Chemical Engineering and International Journal of Engineering Transaction B: Applications.
